You’ve probably spent the day on art, history and long walks discovering the wonderful monuments of Seville, but evening has come and it’s time to discover the many tablaos, bar de copas and nightspots the city has to offer.
Spain, and in particular the nightlife in Seville, is renowned for parties and pure fun, so it will be easy to stay out late in the many venues that the centre and the city’s most famous neighbourhoods offer. Thanks to the Seville climate, most venues have an outdoor area and the fiesta goes on all night. In fact, precisely because of the heat, many events start after 11pm and not only during the lively Feria de Abril, which you can see in the cover photo.

Recommended bar de copas
You’ll no doubt have come across many bar de tapas lining the streets, offering food and drinks both by day and in the evening. Here you can order a local beer or better-known brands, enjoy a copa de vino and sample typical Andalusian cuisine made up of small but plentiful dishes — the tapas, of course.
The bar de copas are comparable to English pubs, although, as you might imagine, the atmosphere is very different. Unlike bar de tapas, in bar de copas food is not served — only alcoholic drinks, with a preference for spirits and cocktails. Bar de copas generally open fairly late and sometimes even stay open until the following morning.
- Right in the city centre, you will find Bar Antigüedades, at Calle Argote de Molina 40, with décor that changes from week to week and starts to come alive after midnight.
- Not far away is El Garlochí, at Calle Boteros 26, where you will be welcomed by statues of Jesus, Madonnas and sacristy-style décor… the most popular cocktail could only be called “Sangre de Cristo”.
- The Second Room, at Calle de Placentines 19, has a long cocktail list and is famous, among other things, for serving the best Daiquiri in Seville. This place is halfway between a tapas bar and a bar de copas: it all depends on what time you arrive.

The best tablaos to see flamenco
Seville is the city of flamenco: it was in the streets and courtyards of the Barrio Triana that this art originated and spread, where song, dance and rhythm convey timeless emotions.
Today there are two areas of Seville famous for their tablaos, the venues dedicated to flamenco: Barrio Triana and Barrio Santa Cruz. Among the most renowned are Museo del Ballo Flamenco at Calle Manuel Rojas Marcos 3, Casa de la Memoria at Calle Cuna 6, Tablao Los Gallos at Plaza Santa Cruz 11, and El Arenal at Calle Rodo 7. Live music venues and nightclubs in Seville
For jazz lovers, the Naima Jazz Café is the top spot. Situated in calle Trajano 57, it offers live music every evening, ranging from jazz and blues to bossa nova. The intimate atmosphere and the musicians’ skill make up for the cost of the drinks. Entry is free but a purchase is mandatory. NOTE: Unfortunately this venue has closed permanently.
There aren’t many nightclubs in Seville city centre, partly to avoid disturbing local residents. Here are some nightclubs in Seville that might interest you.
- Sala X si trova in Calle Jose Diaz 7 ed è a metà fra una discoteca e un locale di musica dal vivo… dipende dalla serata!
- All’interno dell’Hotel Melia Lebreros si trova la discoteca Abril Sevilla, famosa per i suoi ambienti futuristici in stile newyorchese anni ’80.
- L’elegante Terraza Alfonso è una delle discoteche più amate dai giovani di Siviglia a causa della sua posizione all’interno dell’elegante Parque de Maria Luisa (Paseo de las Delicias 13).
- La Discoteca Holiday Sevilla si trova in Calle Jesus del Gran Poder 73, non distante dal centro. La vicina Alameda de Hercules è una zona di ritrovi per molti giovani sivigliani.

Theatres in Seville
In addition to comedies and Spanish-language productions, Seville’s theatre season often features classical music, opera, lyrical performances and dance. During your stay I therefore suggest you check the programme at the Teatro de la Maestranza, the Teatro Lope de Vega and the Teatro Central: these are the city’s three main theatres.
During the warmer months there are often concerts and performances both at the Hospital de los Venerables in Plaza de los Venerables 8 and in the beautiful gardens of the Real Alcázar, particularly during the Noches en los Jardines del Real Alcázar series.
